Laura Newman, DPM
Laura Newman, DPM is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon who has provided advanced foot and ankle care for her patients since 2008.
Dr. Newman’s undergraduate studies focused on Zoology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science. She then attended the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, FL, earning a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 2008, followed by a three-year residency at Jackson North Medical Center.
As a podiatric surgery specialist, Dr. Newman is affiliated with several hospitals in Florida, including the Delray Medical Center, and Bethesda Hospital East and West. She has specialties in foot & ankle surgery, advanced wound care techniques, sports medicine and biologics, and injury evaluation and treatment.
Dr. Newman is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. She maintains professional memberships with the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, and the Palm Beach County Podiatric Association.
When she is not taking care of her patients, Dr. Newman stays active as both a player and Team Doctor for her local Dub City Roller Derby team.
Jay Newman, DPM
As Florida Family Podiatry’s senior podiatric physician and surgeon, Dr. Jay Newman’s career spans over 43 years. He is board certified, and has been in practice since 1978 with specialties in advanced dermatology and wound care, joint disease treatments, diabetic care, sports injury management, and foot infections.
Dr. Newman attended Stony Brook University in Brookhaven, NY as an undergraduate before attending medical school at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated with honors and a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 1978. Dr. Newman completed his residency training at the Foot Clinics of New York in 1979.
Dr. Newman is board certified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is affiliated with Bethesda Hospital East and West in Boynton Beach, FL. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, and the Palm Beach County Podiatric Association.
Patricia Bedoya, DPM
Patricia Bedoya, DPM is a podiatric physician and podiatric surgery specialist with certifications from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Bedoya received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Manhattan College, and then attended the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, FL, where she earned a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 2008. She began her post-graduate training with an internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2009, followed by a three-year residency at Jackson North Medical Center ending in 2012.
Dr. Bedoya’s specialties include advanced wound care, dermatology and laser therapies, custom orthotics and bracing, tendonitis, and trauma management. She is also experienced in pediatric care, and is highly skilled in the Ponsetti method for the correction congenital clubfoot.
Dr. Bedoya has affiliations with the Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, and the Bethesda Hospital East and West in Boynton Beach. She is able to serve the diverse community of Palm Beach County by speaking both English and Spanish.
